Note: All Camps will follow the return to play restrictions dictated by Canada Soccer (CSA) and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).

  • Summer soccer camps will start on July 6 and run until August 14. August Camps begin August 17th.
  • All training will be on Sid Buckwold Fields. Field Location and Layout
  • The current maximum per group is set at 30 players/group. This number may change as limits to outdoor gathering sizes change.
  • There will be breaks between groups to change equipment and allow physical distancing while entering and leaving the field.
  • Groups will be formed once registration is completed. Players will stay in those training groups for the duration of the camps.
  • Training will be ran jointly between Lakewood and the Whitecaps and conducted by a combination of Whitecaps and Lakewood staff.

Whitecaps/Lakewood U9-U13 Boys & Girls Academy (2 training sessions per week) - Cost - $225

  • Group 1 (U9/U10/U11) Tuesday and Thursday 4:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Group 2 (U12/U13)Tuesday and Thursday 5:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Birth years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

Whitecaps/Lakewood U14-U15 Prospects Academy (2 training sessions per week) - Cost - $325

  • Group 1 (U13/U14) Monday and Wednesday 4:00pm to 5:30pm
  • Birth years 2005, 2006, 2007

Whitecaps U15+ MLS Academy (3 training sessions per week) - Cost - $425

  • Group 1 (U15+) Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm to 7:30pm and Tuesday 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Lakewood Soccer AUGUST CAMPS. Please register early as spots will be limited!

  • Lakewood Soccer Full Day Camp
    • WHO: All players in the U11/U13/U15+ age groups (2011 and older)
    • WHEN: Monday August 17th to Thursday August 20th
      • 10:00am to 3:00pm
      • Lunches will be the responsibility of each participant
    • WHERE: Sid Buckwold Fields
    • WHAT: Focus will be on individual technical skills, many touches on the ball, mini games and tactical awareness, and lots of fun.
    • COST: $200 per participant
      • Please note that final confirmation of the Camp will be determined after number of registrations are confirmed.

  • Lakewood Soccer Fun Camp
    • WHO: All players in the U7/U9/U11/U13/U15+ age groups (2014 and older)
    • WHEN: Monday August 17th to Thursday August 20th
      • 4:30pm to 6:00pm for U7/U9/U11 age groups (2009 to 2014)
      • 6:00pm to 8:00pm for U13/U15+ age groups (2008 and older)
    • WHERE: Sid Buckwold Fields
    • WHAT: Focus will be on technical skills, mini games, and lots of fun.
    • COST: $50 for U7/U9/U11 and $75 for U13/U15+
      • Please note that final confirmation of the Camp will be determined after number of registrations are confirmed.

  • Lakewood Soccer Development Camp
    • WHO: All players in the U7/U9/U11/U13/U15+ age groups (2014 and older)
    • WHEN: Monday August 24th to Thursday August 27th
      • 5:00pm to 6:30pm for U7/U9 age groups (2011 to 2014)
      • 5:00pm to 7:00pm for U11/U13 age group (2007 to 2010)
      • 5:00pm to 7:30pm for U15+ age group (2006 and older)
    • WHERE: Sid Buckwold Fields
    • WHAT: Focus will be on conditioning, technical skills, mini games, and development of players' skills.
    • COST: $50 for U7/U9, $75 for U11/U13 and $100 for U15+
      • Please note that final confirmation of the Camp will be determined after number of registrations are confirmed.

  • Lakewood Soccer Blue & White Cup!
    • WHO: Any and All Lakewood Players! (2014 and older)
    • WHEN: Friday August 28th to Sunday August 30th
      • Times will be based on final registration numbers, but may tentatively look like the following:
        • U7/U9 - Friday 4-6pm, Sat 10-12pm and Sun 10-12pm
        • U11 - Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 12-2pm and Sunday 12-2pm
        • U13 - Saturday 2-5pm and Sunday 2-5pm
        • U15+ - Saturday 5-8pm and Sunday 5-8pm
    • WHERE: Sid Buckwold Fields
    • WHAT: The Blue & White Cup will be a mini-tournament format to provide players an environment of having Fun and enjoying the game of soccer at it's fullest! Players will be placed on teams with their friends and players in their appropriate age groups and play multiple games throughout the weekend to determine who are the not only the champions but who are the ones enjoying the most as prizes will be provided for all types of skill levels and for all kinds of various "special" skills, including best smile! The goal of the weekend is that of providing a bit of a celebration of the game and our Lakewood membership!
    • COST: $50 for player
      • Please note that final confirmation of the Blue & White Cup will be determined after number of registrations are confirmed.

Lakewood Players that are invited, will be informed of the opportunity to be part of the Lakewood Performance Program as this program is directed at premier ranked players and would not be a good fit for those players looking to be in a comfortable environment for their skill level.

Lakewood Performance Program

  • By invite only for the U11 and the U13 age groups.
  • Open to any player for the U15+ age group.
  • There will be 3 training sessions per week, 18 sessions in total, 27+ hours on-field over 6 weeks.
  • Training will be led by technical staff, including Coach Daniel, Pedja, Tim, Arielle, Cedric, Nicky and Lewis
  • Spots are limited due to Return to play guidelines.
  • Sessions will be run the following UPDATED times:
    • U11 Boys - Monday, Wednesday 5:00pm-6:15pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:15pm
    • U11 Girls - Monday, Wednesday 5:00pm-6:15pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:15pm
    • U13 Girls - Monday, Wednesday 5:00pm-6:15pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:30pm
    • U13 Boys - Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:30pm
    • U15+ Girls - Monday, Wednesday 6:30pm-8:00pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:30pm
    • U15+ Boys - Monday, Wednesday 6:30pm-8:00pm and Friday 6:00pm-7:30pm
  • All sessions to be held at Sid Buckwold Fields.
  • Cost is $200

Waivers And Compliance:

There are new protocols and rules for the Return to Play and making sure we return to the pitch in as safe an environment as possible. New waivers and a new Declaration of Compliance are required for registration and will be accepted during the registration process. For you to be able to review, these are the documents:

Return to Play Restrictions for Players will include:

  • Players must not attend if they are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Players must come prepared with clearly labelled Ziplock Bag, hand sanitizer, two masks (in case one is compromised), labelled water bottle with closed mouth, tissue, any medication.
  • Other than items listed for Ziploc bag, no other personal items will be allowed.
  • Players must commit to abide by the social/physical distancing and safety measures for their own safety as well as others.

Return to Play Restrictions for Parents/Guardians will include:

  • Must not attend if they are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Must ensure their child is healthy with no sign of any symptoms.
  • Go over the social distancing, hand hygiene, and safety protocols with players so that there is a clear understanding of what expectations have been set.
  • Make sure that child has all items they need to participate.
  • Must be available to attend to child’s major injury if one should occur.
  • Must remain outside the field area unless asked to enter the field.

Check in Procedures:

  • Sid Buckwold - South alleyway parking for drop off/check in only. Parents must stay in cars. Parents to watch from perimeter only to maintain social/physical distancing.
  • One parent can accompany child to contactless check in table.
  • Players may only arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.
  • Players must be aware of the processes and guidelines and transition steps.
  • Hand sanitizing will take place at check in.
  • Players will wait to enter the field in the “holding area” which will be marked and supervised.
  • Coaches will take groups (previously assigned) to identified training area.

Training Session Guidelines:

  • Coaches and players will be allowed to wear masks during training - this will be at the discretion of each coach/player.
  • All participants are required to have their own labelled water bottle and should be kept at least 2 meters from other participants belongings.
  • All players are to ensure their playing/training kits are washed immediately after each use
  • No loitering in the parking lot before or after training sessions.
  • Parents can watch from cars or at a safe distance, but they must observe physical distancing guidelines.
  • Parents are asked to stay on site in case of emergency or inclement weather.
  • Staff will discourage large crowds to ensure physical distancing measures are observed.
  • No handshakes, hugs, high fives, etc. at anytime.
  • All injuries should be dealt with by the parent/guardian. If not possible, Lakewood will have staff on site to attend to the injured player (wearing mask/gloves)
  • Players will remain at their assigned training station for every session.
  • There will be 30 minutes between sessions.
  • Once training is done Coaches will have players pick up their belongings and then take them to the exit side of field which will be the North alleyway parking where parents can pick up their players.
  • Equipment will be exchanged with fresh equipment for next group once between sessions.

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

  • Hands must be washed or sanitized before and after training session.
  • Sanitization stations will be set up at check-in, field entrance, on field, and exits.
  • Washrooms to be provided and will be cleaned and sanitized on regular basis.
  • Equipment will be set out, collected, and cleaned by Lakewood staff at the end of each session. Equipment will not be shared between groups.
  • Containers will be provided for safe disposal of hygienic materials

Coach Commitment:

  • Must not attend if ill or have any symptoms
  • All Coaches and staff to go through pre-activity orientation.
  • Coaches should gather and leave all equipment in the cleaning area post session.
  • As per provincial health authority guidelines, wearing face masks is highly recommended.
  • Structure activities to maximize physical distancing
  • Design activities so athletes stay within their existing small groups to reduce amount of contact.
  • No heading/hand contact with ball (feet only).
  • Regular sanitization breaks combined with water breaks.
  • Take players to exit area (North alleyway) for parent pick up after each session.

Field Location and Layout:

    • The Sid Buckwold Field #5 (Sidney L. Buckwold Park) is off of McKercher Drive, and in between Degeer St and Boychuk Dr.
    • Entrance and Drop off will be in the south alleyway and accessible from Degeer St (by Roland Michener School)
    • Exit and Pick up (and parking) will be on the north alleyway accessible from Boychuk Dr, from Waterloo Cres.
