LAKEWOOD Soccer Return to Play
Summary:
Lakewood Soccer follows restrictions dictated by Canada Soccer (CSA), Saskatchewan Soccer (SSA), and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).
- Outdoor Season officially begins May 3rd.
- Lakewood will be offering pre-season training sessions for all age groups at the end of April.
- All pre-season and outdoor season training sessions will be held at Sid Buckwold Fields. Field Location and Layout.
- Outdoors we may have up to 30 players on a full field at any time (Not including coaches).
- Physical and social distancing will be monitored while entering/leaving the field.
- Currently, we are in phase 1 of the provincial return to soccer plan, which means we are able to train in small groups of 8.

Waivers And Compliance:
There are new protocols and rules for the Return to Play and making sure we return to the pitch in as safe an environment as possible. New waivers and a new Declaration of Compliance are required for registration and will be accepted during the registration process. For you to be able to review, these are the documents:
Return to Play Restrictions for Players will include:
- Players must not attend if they are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19.
- Players must come prepared with clearly labelled belongings including a labelled water bottle with closed mouth, tissue, any medication, etc.
- Players must commit to abide by the social/physical distancing and safety measures for their own safety as well as others.
- Players may not touch any equipment or the soccer ball with their hands at any time.
- No heading/hand contact with ball (feet only).
Return to Play Restrictions for Parents/Guardians will include:
- Only one spectator or parent may attend training sessions.
- Must not attend if they are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19.
- Must ensure their child is healthy with no sign of any symptoms.
- Go over the social distancing, hand hygiene, and safety protocols with players so that there is a clear understanding of expectations.
- Make sure that child has all items they need to participate and comes prepared to the field.
- Must be available to attend to child’s major injury if one should occur.
- Must remain outside the field area unless asked to enter the field.
Check in Procedures:
- Sid Buckwold - South alleyway parking for drop off/check in only.
- Parents can check-in their child and then proceed to the pick up side of the park.
- Parents to watch from perimeter only to maintain social/physical distancing.
- One parent can accompany child to contactless check in table.
- Players may only arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the session.
- Players must be aware of the processes and guidelines and transition steps.
- Hand sanitizing will take place at check in.
Training Session Guidelines:
- Players will be allowed to wear masks during training - this will be at the discretion of each player.
- All participants are required to have their own labelled water bottle and should be kept at least 2 meters from other participants belongings.
- All players are to ensure their playing/training kits are washed immediately after each use
- Parents can watch from cars or at a safe distance, but they must observe physical distancing guidelines.
- Parents are asked to stay on site in case of emergency or inclement weather.
- No handshakes, hugs, high fives, etc. at anytime.
- All injuries should be dealt with by the parent/guardian. If not possible, Lakewood will have staff on site to attend to the injured player.
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Hands must be washed or sanitized before and after training session.
- Hand Sanitizer will be available at check-in.
Coach Commitment:
- Must not attend if ill or have any symptoms.
- All Coaches and staff to go through pre-activity orientation.
- Coaches should gather and leave all equipment in the cleaning area post session.
- As per provincial health authority guidelines, wearing face masks is highly recommended.
- No heading/hand contact with ball (feet only).
Field Location and Layout:
- The Sid Buckwold Fields Sidney L. Buckwold Park) is off of McKercher Drive, and in between Degeer St and Boychuk Dr.
- Entrance and Drop off will be in the south alleyway and accessible from Degeer St (by Roland Michener School)
- Exit and Pick up (and parking) will be on the north alleyway accessible from Boychuk Dr, from Waterloo Cres.
